Mara Dyer once believed she could run from her past.
She used to think her problems were all in her head.
She couldn’t imagine that after everything she’s been through, the boy she loves would still be keeping secrets.
What Is Your Favorite Scene:
C: COME ON. This has to be the beach. I don’t care WHAT HAPPENED or what was said. The sexiest man on earth took Mara to the beach for her birthday by boat, put a TUX on for her, and tried to pull out ALL the romance stops. It was epic. And gorgeous. [At least in my head!] Plus, I have a thing for the beach as it is. So, yes. This was perfection.
J: Though I absolutely adored the beach scene, I think my favorite would probably be the one where Mara reads Noah’s notebook. I mean, the things he writes about her made my heart melt. I would LOVE to read more from Noah’s perspective!
Who Is Your Favorite Character:
C: Don’t shoot me, everyone. But, as much as I LOVE Noah with all my heart, I also LOVE Jamie. He brings the wit, the sarcasm and the OH SO NEEDED humor to this otherwise rather dark series. He is a breath of fresh air, and I love him for being the chuckle I can count on while reading Evolution.
J: Jamie! I mean, I love Noah and Mara and Daniel and all, but Jamie is hilarious. He cracked me up even when things were tense. Look at this: “We are far too screwed-up for a goddamned love triangle.”.
Evolution Vs Unbecoming:
C: Oh. Wow. Okay. These books are SO different. I think I liked Evolution a SMIDGE better. The reason for this is the setting of [the majority of] the book is in an asylum. And I love that stuff. Its just so fascinating to me to get an inside like at what happens in this sort of place, and to visit the minds of the people who are places in facilities like this. I’m realllyy not as messed up as I sound! I swear!
J: I like Unbecoming better. I was completely obsessed and creeped out and in shock while (and after) reading that book, and it gave me one of the worst book hangovers ever! The Evolution hangover was probably worse, but somehow I had gotten used to the creepiness. And I liked the Noah-Mara scenes better in Unbecoming
Why Should Everyone Read This Series?:
C: NOAH. SHAW. That’s why. Just do it. It is one of those books that you will devour, and Mara is so unique as a character. She will take you on journeys that no other character could. And MICHELLE HODKIN IS A GOD.
J: Noah Shaw. (Oh, you’re not convinced? Haha. Read this book.)
The Ending –Done CHAT STYLE [part two]
J: My heart has been broken into a million pieces.
C: The saddest days have come and gone. LETS HOPE.
J: RIGHT?! We must hope for a better ending.
C: I mean. The books are all about the INSANITY. and..
J: driving us insane
C: if this is true.. Wouldn’t the INSANITY kinda be a lie?
J: YES! well, I think the genre shift would be a VERY interesting twist. but also one I can’t really… understand… yet?
C: ME EITHER. I dont even know what is going to happen next! I have ZZEEERO idea.
J: NOT A CLUE! Which was actually the same way I felt after finishing Unbecoming.
C: Valid point. BUT NOW.
J: so Michelle Hodkin has a talent for writing MIND BLOWING cliffhangers
J: I think that just sums it up perfectly.
C: Yes, like.. want to blow my BRAIN out.
J: That would be pretty messy.
C: OH WELL. I just wouldn’t care.
J: This book is turning us into ZOMBIES
C: The apocalypse, as started by Michelle Hodkin.
