Welcome to FALL: AKA the end of Contemporary Season?

Posted by on Sep 8, 2014 | 9 comments

I am so excited that fall is here.. That means my contemporary addiction MAY be put to a stop and I can get back into my mysteries, historicals, and fantasies!  I still loveeee contemporary but Fall is a season of suspense and horror.  I must say, I next to NEVER read all contemporary for months on end, but this summer, there were just SO MANY GOOD ONES.  I couldn’t even help myself.  But now..

I mean COME ON, Halloween is upon us.  Anyway, let’s get to the books.

Thursday Thought : Pairing Books With Places

Posted by on Jul 24, 2014 | 2 comments

Design-2014-07-23-11-32-31So I know I can not possibly be the only person who does this.  But Hannah tells me its one of my ME things, so I figured I’d chat about it! But I match what I’m reading with where I am. And then. I read certain genres more depending on the season. And I do all this on top of being a mood reader to the max. Sometimes it makes it hard to get to review books on time but hey. It is what it is. This post is gonna give you some examples from things I have coming up this August through October. And I’ll also chat real quick about the book I read in Miami which was recommended to me by Estelle!  In Miami I wanted a chicklit.  E told me The Undomestic Goddess made her LAUGH OUT LOUD.  THat was all she had to say! I devoured it, loved it, and have since purchased multiple Sophie Kinsella books!  I mean come on, I was away for a bachelorette weekend, chicklit HAD TO BE my choice!

Since You’ve Been Gone-In Favorites.

Posted by on May 22, 2014 | 6 comments

This is not going to be a typical review. It is going to be me taking some themes from Morgan Matson’s Since You’ve Been Gone and throwing them at you as my personal
pitch to get you to read this book! IT IS AMAZING. But first, the facts.

Emily and Sloane are BFF’s until one day Sloane disappears without a trace.  All that is left for Emily is a list.  And on this list are things Em would NEVER do, not in a million years.  Unless that is, she believes it will lead her to Sloane.

Review: Cherry Money Baby by John Cusick

cherrymoneybabycoverCherry Money Baby

By: John Cusick

Hollywood glitz collides with workingclass aspirations in this satirical tale of an impulsive starlet and a sharp-witted small-town teen.

Cherry Kerrigan loves her simple life, her family’s tiny trailer, even working at Burrito Barn. Forget college — she’s marrying her sweetheart from next door. But here comes Ardelia Deen, a glamorous starlet who sweeps Cherry into a world of fast cars and penthouse parties. Now Cherry’s small-town life just seems so . . . small. When Ardelia drops a bomb of an offer — one involving a baby — Cherry knows her life will change forever, no matter what she decides. John M. Cusick focuses his signature wit on Hollywood royalty and the wide-eyed dreams of Small Town, U.S.A. in a novel about discovering who you are . . . and changing your mind.
