Today I have with me today, Ashley Elston!  Ashley is a debut author for 2013 and her book The Rules for Disappearing will be out in 8 days! Make sure to get your hands on it, because it is GOOD!  My review can be found here.  After the interview, will be all the book info you need!

To start off Ashley, give us your 60 second speed-date-style about me!

Hi! So glad to be here! I’m married with three incredible sons and we live in Northwest Louisiana. I was a wedding/portrait photographer for ten years so I’ve seen my fair share of brides and babies. I also help my husband with our landscaping company. And I write in any spare moment I can find!

Well, let me just say I just finished your book, The Rules for Disappearing and I must know, any real life influence there? If not, what brought upon the idea witness protection idea?

Thankfully, no real experience with the Witness Protection Program! It really just started with the idea of how awful it would be if you had to move around a lot but not be able to tell anyone your true identity.

Ethan is so awesome.  Did you have any celebrity in your head that you thought he most resembled?

Not really. When I met my husband, I was an 18 year old city girl and he was a 21 year old country boy. He was always wearing dirty boots and taking me for rides on his family’s farm. He also has an adorable dimple so I guess there’s a little bit of my husband in there.

I love the sister relationship in Rules do you have any siblings?

Yes! A brother and two sisters.

What are some of your favorite things to do? Any hobbies?

My entire family loves the outdoors. We live on a river so we’re fishing, boating and swimming whenever the weather is good. I still love photography even though I’m out of that business. And I have a ridiculous number of crafty projects on my Pinterest boards that I am dying to get to.

What’s a typical weekend like for you?  Any seafood pizza around your neighborhood? [haha!]

Yes! I have to give a shout-out to Johnny’s Pizza and their Sweep the Swamp pizza! It is a local pizza place and the best pizza I’ve ever eaten.

A typical weekend would include cooking out with friends, being on the water or relaxing with my family. Very laid back.

What’s up next for you, Ashley? I  can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us!

I’m working on the sequel to THE RULES FOR DISAPPEARING and also just started a new story I’m really excited about!

Who was your favorite character to write in Rules?

My favorite character has to be Meg. Although, Ethan runs a close second!

Who are a few of YOUR favorite authors? and what are your favorite recent reads?

I love a wide range of authors from Stephanie Perkins to Ken Follett to Sidney Sheldon. I’ve been reading a lot of fellow Lucky 13er’s ARCs lately and they are all fabulous! I’m so excited to be a part of that group. So many talented writers.

by: Ashley Elston

She’s been six different people in six different places: Madeline in Ohio, Isabelle in Missouri, Olivia in Kentucky . . . But now that she’s been transplanted to rural Louisiana, she has decided that this fake identity will be her last.

Witness Protection has taken nearly everything from her. But for now, they’ve given her a new name, Megan Rose Jones, and a horrible hair color. For the past eight months, Meg has begged her father to answer one question: What on earth did he do – or see – that landed them in this god-awful mess? Meg has just about had it with all the Suits’ rules — and her dad’s silence. If he won’t help, it’s time she got some answers for herself.

But Meg isn’t counting on Ethan Landry, an adorable Louisiana farm boy who’s too smart for his own good. He knows Meg is hiding something big. And it just might get both of them killed. As they embark on a perilous journey to free her family once and for all, Meg discovers that there’s only one rule that really matters — survival.
